Bought these for an impending house move. They are a useful size, not too large if filled but would not recommend filling them with really heavy items without adding an additional stout card base and taping round securely. Overall impression, good size, fairly stout, but need additional reinforcement for heavier items

After needing to pack up my kitchen for a new floor and ceiling, I opted to replace the whole kitchen, so were looking for somewhere to safely store the items that had accrued over the past 30 year until the new kitchen was in place. The boxes visually seemed on the small side, but did hold quite a bit. Ensure you tape the base up or you'll not be able to put anything in them that has any weight. Also ensure tape runs along the seam.....this may be common sense to some, but not to all, as I discovered when I had someone help me assemble the boxes. It could result in giggling moments to some, but if the box was holding sentimental items or items of monetary value and they escaped unexpectedly through the bottom of the box and exploded in millions of miniscule bits over the floor, giggling would be the furthest thing from your mind. Trust me I know! I used all of the boxes, plus some to empty my kitchen, if I was to move house, I would consider buying several packs of these boxes, as they are a great size for a person to move about, they are sturdy and once I've finished using them I'm going to be passing them on to a friend who is due to move house soon. I would recommend these particular boxes.

These are as described; the size is a little smaller than most packing boxes (eg from movers) but it's actually a good size if you're filling them with, say, books - anything larger is going to be a bit too heavy to move comfortably and safely. I still probably wouldn't use the cut-out handles unless filled with very light contents. These are not the kind of flat-pack boxes which have an internal floor flap to make them stay closed at the bottom without packing tape - so you'll need to tape them up at the bottom.
